Shang Xia Beijing Store / Kengo Kuma and Associates
This lattice made of extruded aluminum traditional masonry evokes the old neighborhoods of Beijing. Made in H-shaped sections of two sizes lining the ceiling and makes the store´s distribution using light walls in the different rooms in this shop in a mall in the central business district in northeast Beijing. The deepest part of the store is lined with bricks but made with tea leaves that give a clear dark contrast to the whole space.
Esta celosía realizada en aluminio extruido evoca las mamposterías tradicionales de los antiguos barrios de Beijing. Realizado en perfiles en H de dos tamaños que revisten el techo y crea paredes livianas que distribuye la tienda en diferentes salas en esta tienda situada en un centro comercial en el distrito central de negocios en el noreste de Beijing. La parte mas profunda de la tienda se reviste sin embargo con ladrillos realizados con hojas de té que dan un contraste de claro oscuro a todo el espacio.
